Interested in learning a little more about farm life?
L&A Family Farms offers field trips and farm tours through out the year. Every season has something different to offer and see on the farm. Most field trips can be customized to meet your specific needs or relate to a topic you are currently studying. Field trips and farm tours are great for schools, and various other groups, looking to learn and spend time in the country.
Customizable field trips for schools and groups
Important information:
Preferred morning schedule, with possible alternative times
Spots filled on a first-come, first-served basis
Two-hour duration, longer if bringing a sack lunch for picnic areas
Prompt arrival and check-in required; late arrivals may result in shortened trips
Dress appropriately for weather and farm conditions
Weather-related cancellations determined the morning of the trip

Pricing:
$7 per student and $7 per accompanying parent or adult.
One teacher per classroom and bus driver is free.
15 person minimum, or groups less than 15 can pay the $100 minimum fee.
Payment is due on the day of your visit. Please combine all students into one payment.
What you will specifically see will vary throughout the fall depending on what time of day and season. Things are always changing on the farm!
Visit our Cornish Rock meat chickens. Availability varies depending on date of visit.
Kiko Goats - These are our natural brush controllers. No chemicals needed.
ISA Brown Laying Hens - These lady’s are an important part of our farm! We will see the hens and learn about egg production.
See our egg washer in action - This is a favorite for all ages.
Visit the Corn Maze and the Pumpkin Patch.
Discuss the need for pollinators and what our farm does to encourage them.
Visit our cut-flower plots.
See some of our farm equipment up-close.
Younger groups may be able to play in the large sand pile or playground.
There will be various other things to see as we go from one location to another.
SUMMER FUN FOR K-8TH GRADERS!
We host camps for kids entering kindergarten through 8th grade during the month of June. The camps will cover information about soil, plants and animals, and farm equipment and more.
Experiment with soil
Start a sunflower patch for kids
Visit pastures, brooder houses, and hen houses
Gather eggs
Learn about farm animals' diets and behavior
Become members of a honeybee hive and care for the hive
Choose a farm craft to make and keep, based on age range
Take home farm produce and seeds to plant
Receive a ticket for free admission to the sunflower maze later in the summer
2024 Summer Camp Dates & Times:
Saturday, June 22 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Saturday, June 29 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Further Info:
The camp will feature a farm obstacle course, a design- your-own-farm project, and an escape room as a final activity! Those in attendance should bring a small backpack, water, tennis shoes to wear and a sack lunch. We have a cooler if the lunch needs refrigerated.
Camps are limited to 25 students.
Registration will close five days prior to camp.
The fee to attend camp is $45 per student.
You may pay online or pay upon arrival on camp day.
