Our Variety

Vegetables
Broccoli
4 different varieties

The two main varieties that we plant are Green Magic(smaller head) and Gypsy(larger head). Both varieties produce side shoots so the harvest can be extended. The other two varieties are Monaco and Premium Crop.

Cabbage
5 different varieties

Blue Vantage, Stonehead, Brunswick, Copenhagen Market, and Red Dynasty

Green Beans
Blue Lake

We plant Blue Lake because that is the only bean that Grandpa and Grandma would plant. It is a very good yielding variety.

Derby

This variety is a taller plant that makes for easier picking. It is also a very good yielding variety.

Other varieties

Concesa, Jade, Valentino, Tenderette, Slenderette, and Provider

Royal Burgundy

This variety produces a dark purple pod which turns green when cooked.

Loose Leaf varieties

Prizehead, Oakleaf, Red Sails, and Waldman's Green

Pea
Shell Peas

This year we are growing seven different varieties: Spring, Wando, Dual, Mr. Big, Olympia,Green Arrow, and Rondo. 

Pepper: Bell or Sweet
Different colors

California Wonder, Keystone, Pimento, Merlot(black), Chablis(white), Chocolate Beauty(brown), and Sweet Banana

Potato
Kennebec

Dad and Grandpa would only plant Kennebec so they have to be good. Heavy yields. Good storing variety.

Red La Soda

The best red potato we have found. Heavy yield with some large baking size potatoes. Stores very well during the winter months.

Yukon Gold

Matures early. Yellow flesh potato that is good for mashing.

Rhubarb
Rhubarb

Large red stalks with green towards the top. Great in pie, cobbler, or jams.

Snow Peas
Oregon Sugar Pod II

This is the only edible pod variety that we plant. It is a very sweet pod that can grow to 3"-4" when ready to pick and is a good healthy snack.
