SUNFLOWER MAZE UPDATE - WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 6

The fourth maze really was a great one, and it was so much fun getting to have so many people come out to see the farm. Unfortunately though, the fourth maze is done blooming. We are hoping that we will have another maze at the end of September, even though that is up in the air. We'll make sure to keep you posted though! For more sunflower maze details, click here.

I have a friend coming in from Minnesota that LOVES sunflowers, she will be here July 24th, do you think there will still be something to see at that time?
L&A Family Farms said,
7/13/2018 @ 1:13 pm
Hello Sue, we are really hoping that our second sunflower field will be blooming at that time. Keep checking this page though! We'll make sure you know how the fields are looking before you come.

Was planning a trip that way this Friday, July 20th. Do you think the second planting will be in bloom then?
L&A Family Farms said,

April, this Friday may be a little too soon for the sunflowers. We are hoping that the second field will be blooming by this weekend. Keep checking this page though so you can get the best idea of when to come!

My husband is from Kansas and we've seen the beautiful Sunfllowers there. I live in Rush County, Indiana and we have a family in Arlington,Indiana. that have some fields of Sunflowers. Love Sunflowers
James Cooper said,

Is it possible that you will have sunflowers in bloom August 18th?
L&A Family Farms said,
7/26/2018 @ 10:32 am
James, Our third planting may be in bloom around August 18th, but it is too soon to tell since the weather between now and then could have an impact on their bloom date.
Kyra said,
7/26/2018 @ 2:43 pm
How late is the maze open? Will it still be open in August? Like August 20?
L&A Family Farms said,
7/26/2018 @ 4:50 pm
Kyra, We are hoping that we will have flowers that long, but unfortunately the weather may keep us from being able to do that. Just make sure you stay posted to our website and Facebook, and we'll make sure you know as soon as we can say for sure!

We plan to come out tomorrow morning ... are the sunflowers still in bloom? OR should we wait?
Jimmy said,

This is beautiful!! I really want to visit. Do you think the maze will still be up by this Friday??
L&A Family Farms said,
7/30/2018 @ 1:52 pm
Jimmy, Unfortunately, our second section of sunflowers will mostly be wilted by this Friday. We have another section that will hopefully bloom around the middle of August. You can keep tabs on what the maze looks like by checking this page (The Daily Briefing) everyday.
Lisa said,

Hi! I was interested in bringing my nieces to the sunflower maze tomorrow. Do you think the sunflowers will still be in bloom for them to see? I realize it will probably still be muddy from past few days of rain.
L&A Family Farms said,
7/31/2018 @ 3:02 pm
Hi Lisa, unfortunately, we are thinking that the sunflowers will be pretty wilted by that time. If you would like to plan a trip for later on though, we are thinking that the third field will bloom closer to August 12th. Hope you can come to see us!
Isabel Salgado said,
8/2/2018 @ 2:03 pm
Planning on coming this weekend. Do you feel it will still be a good time frame to catch some good pictures with sunflowers?
L&A Family Farms said,
8/2/2018 @ 4:39 pm
Hi Isabel, just so you know, the flowers are starting to droop a good bit. While I think that there will still be some good flowers to see on Saturday, they most certainly will not look as good as what they did this last weekend. Also, jsut so you know, there are going to be three more fields that will bloom later on in the year. The next one we are hoping will bloom August 12th or close to that time. Looking forward to having you!
Jessie said,

I was wondering how late the maze is open today.

How are the sunflowers looking this morning?
L&A Family Farms said,
8/11/2018 @ 10:03 am
Shelbie, The front half of the third section (current field) is looking good with open sunflowers! The back half hasn't opened as much, though, thanks to the weather and deer.
Micah said,
8/11/2018 @ 12:11 pm
Hi! I have a small dog who is very good. Doesn’t pick on anything. Was wondering if i could bring him to the fields? We can just carry him if anything? Thank you!
Amy said,
8/11/2018 @ 12:50 pm
If I were to come on Sunday the 12th will it look more full? Like the flowers will be there more in the front?
L&A Family Farms said,
8/11/2018 @ 2:17 pm
Hi Micah, sorry we do not allow dogs on the farm unless they are service dogs.
L&A Family Farms said,
8/11/2018 @ 2:20 pm
Hi Amy, the sunflowers will be a little fuller tomorrow and more in bloom. Just check the Daily Briefing tomorrow to see how they look tomorrow.
Cassidy Waldrep said,

How long does it take to get through the maze? Also, how long is the wagon ride to the maze?
Sherry said,
8/11/2018 @ 5:01 pm
Hi! I plan to come next weekend, do you think there will be still something great to see at that time?
L&A Family Farms said,
8/12/2018 @ 12:07 pm
Cassidy, It has been taking most visitors 20 to 30 minutes to go through the maze. The wagon ride takes roughly 10 minutes to get to the maze from the store.
L&A Family Farms said,
8/12/2018 @ 12:09 pm
Sherry, We should still have some blooms next weekend, but it will largely depend on the weather this week. Keep checking The Daily Briefing for an updated picture!
Christopher said,
8/12/2018 @ 12:27 pm
G'afternoon! I was wondering how tall a full bloom is? Kind of a weird question, I'm sure, but I wanted to take pictures and thinking of the different angles and if I would be able to see over the tops of the blooms.
Amy said,
8/12/2018 @ 4:43 pm
Hi I’m wondering when will the third part of this field be in full bloom?
L&A Family Farms said,
8/13/2018 @ 11:58 am
Hey Christopher, it's a little bit of a weirder response, but it really depends! We have some flowers that are blooming that are closer to 6 and a half feet tall, and others that are closer to 3 feet tall. (Most of them are closer to five and a half feet tall.) The weather can have a huge impact on how tall the flowers grow!
L&A Family Farms said,
8/13/2018 @ 12:02 pm
Amy, we're expecting the flowers to look great all the way through this week. We can't guarantee anything, but they should look very good by this weekend.
elizabeth said,
8/17/2018 @ 8:40 am
Are you open today even with the chance of spotty showers?
L&A Family Farms said,
8/17/2018 @ 9:19 am
Hi Elizabeth, just so you know we only close when weather may cause a potential danger to our customer. We'll be open the rest of today, and all this weekend at least! See you here!
How are the flowers today?
L&A Family Farms said,
8/19/2018 @ 12:28 pm
Hi Ramona, today the field is still blooming but some are starting to wilt. A picture has been posted on the Daily Briefing page of what the sunflowers look like now.
L&A Family Farms said,
8/19/2018 @ 12:39 pm
Hi Jenny, unfortunately the sunflowers will be past full bloom by this Tuesday but there still will be a lot of color. Keep an eye on our daily briefing for the current update & weather conditions.

We we’re thinking of driving down this Sunday, September 1. I know it’s hard for you to predict but do you think the field will still be blooming?
L&A Family Farms said,
8/29/2018 @ 9:56 am
Hello Javonne, We're actually thinking that the flowers will look great this Friday. We're just hoping that weather doesn't get in the way.
Nicole said,
8/29/2018 @ 11:06 am
Will you be open Labor Day? And do you think the flowers will be looking good for a few family pictures?
Thank you!!
L&A Family Farms said,
8/30/2018 @ 10:08 am
Hello Nicole, we will be open on Labor Day, but we aren't quite sure how the flowers will look. Right now, they are really looking their best, so we're hoping that it stretches out that long, but it's kind of difficult to tell. Keep watching our daily updates though, and you'll know how they look every day.

How are the sunflowers doing today?
L&A Family Farms said,
9/3/2018 @ 9:04 am
Hello Julie, the sunflowers are starting to droop and loose and little bit of color, however; there are several sections in the maze that look really good due to the deer eating the sunflowers and the sunflowers growing back. There are pictures in the daily briefing that show how the sunflowers look today.
Allie said,
9/13/2018 @ 7:05 pm
Do you know if any sunflowers will be available to view this weekend? 09-15
L and A Family Farms said,
9/14/2018 @ 9:32 am
Hi Allie, unfortunately, there won't be. If the last field does bloom, it will probably be another week or so before it does. Thanks for checking in though!
Marci Crawford said,

L and A Family Farms said,

Hello Marci, there will not be a maze this weekend. We'll keep everyone posted if we will have another maze this year. Thanks for checking in!
